DESINFECTION

(lat. Inficere- to desinfect) — methods and means conducted for destroying of an infectious source which infects an healthy organism with disease creating microorganisms. Desinfection and disinsection are an integral part of antiepidemic work and directed to overcome the infection ways and factors but deratization to overcome the infection source. The key aim of desinfection is to render harmless of the main objects (water, foodstuffs, domestic goods, etc) which spread infection. Desinfection has biological, physical and mechanical methods:

Running waters and ponds are disinfected with biological methods.

High temperature (dry and humid hot weather), normal and high-pressure  water steam, hot water are largely applied with 8 physical methods.

The infected goods (to clean the clothes and carpets with brushes but the furniture and apartment with a vacuum-cleaner, to change an air of the room,  to clean the room with wet cloth, etc.) are rendered harmless with the mechanical methods. In case the application of other methods is impossible, the chemical method is used.
